Harry D. Babb
Vice President of Corporate Operations/MIS
Harry D. Babb III was born in Yuma Arizona and graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego in 1964. Babb served in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969. He served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment from 1967-1968 in the Republic of Vietnam, serving as a combat weather observer for combat operations. Babb was awarded an Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service in RVN. His other awards include Good Conduct, Vietnam Service and National Defense. His unit was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation. He was a Staff Sergeant at the time of his discharge.
Babb graduated from San Diego State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems.
Babb joined Waxie Sanitary Supply in 1976 as the Data Processing Manager. He was promoted to Operations Manager in 1982, where he had overall responsibility for purchasing, customer service, data processing, the repair shop and the warehouse.
In 1986 Babb was promoted to Vice President of Operations/Data Processing, where he was responsible for the operations of the San Diego division on a day-to-day basis and the data processing on a corporate basis.
Ten years later, Babb was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Operations/MIS. He is responsible for all building projects and facility expansion as well as telecommunications, logistics and fleet operations. Babb has overseen the construction of our San Diego, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Livermore facilities. He is currently overseeing the construction of our Ontario, California division, which will be our largest facility.
